PlayNow Receives Nominations For EGR Awards

There is great news for online casino players from British Columbia province of Canada. The site operated by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) has been included in the shortlists for three different categories in this year's EGR Awards for North America. It is gladdening to learn that PlayNow.com is holding its own against privately owned and operated global giants in the online gambling industry.

In the mobile gaming product PlayNow is up against Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, Golden Nugget, Real Gaming, TVG Network (Betfair Group) and William Hill US. This award will felicitate the operator that has made the biggest impact within the mobile and tablet space during the previous 12 months. The judges will be looking for revenue growth, innovation and strength of product and successful cross-platform offering. The winner of the casino operator category will be selected on the basis of the quality and originality of the product, the strength of the brand and innovations setting it apart from its competitors. In this category PlayNow will be competing against BorgataCasino.com, Caesars Interactive Entertainment, Gamesys, Golden Nugget and Tropicana Entertainment. PlayNow has also been nominated for operator of the year along with some of the same big names. This award recognises the operator that has set the standards for others to follow over the past year.

The EGR Awards are an initiative from the E-Gaming Review. A number of award functions are held annually for different regions and different business streams. The awards are one of the most prestigious in the online gaming industry and the winners enjoy tremendous increase in traffic at their sites. The winners will be announced on April 20 at a ceremony at The Bently Reserve Banking Hall in San Francisco.

Even if PlayNow does not go on to win in any category, the fact of its nomination will be a big boost. Being a site run by a Canadian provincial government it faces some severe handicaps.
